Fr Bill Carroll, Convener
The Rev. Bill Carroll serves as rector of theChurch of the Good Shepherd in Athens, Ohio and chaplain to Ohio University. Heis a life professed member of the Third Order Franciscans and convener of theSouthern Ohio Chapter of the SCP. In the Diocese of Southern Ohio, heserves as chair of the Faith In Life Commission and as a member of theCommission on Ministry. He was also a member of the bishop's task force on samesex unions, where he was on the theology subcommittee. Before moving toSouthern Ohio, Fr. Bill was canonically in the Diocese of Upper South Carolina,where he was ordained and served as a curate, before joining the seminaryfaculty at Sewanee. He received his M.Div. and Ph.D. degrees from theUniversity of Chicago Divinity School, where he wrote a dissertation on thethirteenth century commentaries on John's Gospel by St. Thomas Aquinas, St.Bonaventure, and Meister Eckhart, under the direction of Bernard McGinn. He iscurrently at work on a book about Thomas Merton's teaching on spiritual povertyand humility. He is married to Tracey, also a priest of Southern Ohio, whocurrently serves as priest in charge at St. Paul's, Chillicothe. They have twochildren, Rachel who is twelve and Daniel who is nine. Danny has DownSyndrome, and both parents are active in advocacy work for people withdisabilities. |

Fr Steve Rice, Council Advisor
Fr. Steve Rice is rector of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Winston-Salem, NC, a position he has held since 2008. Fr. Steve previously served St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Waynesboro, Georgia. Before his ordination to the priesthood, Fr. Steve served two United Methodist Churches, Grace United Methodist in North Augusta, SC and Calhoun Falls United Methodist in Calhoun Falls, SC.Fr. Steve earned a B.A. in psychology from Erskine College and a Masters of Divinity from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University. He is currently studying for a Doctor of Ministry at Nashotah House Theological Seminary. He is a member of the Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament. Fr. Steve is married to the former Cherilyn Walker of Auburndale, Florida and together they have two children, Abby and Walker. |

Mtr Lizette Larson Miller, Chaplain
Lizette Larson is currently the
Nancy and Michael Kaehr Professor of Liturgy at the Church Divinity School of
the Pacific and Professor of Liturgical Studies at the Graduate Theological
Union in Berkeley, CA. In addition she is an adjunct professor in the
Graduate Program in Pastoral Ministries (in liturgy and liturgical music) at
Santa Clara University and assisting priest at St. Mark’s, Berkeley. Previously
she taught at the University of Notre Dame and at Loyola Marymount
University. Her first degrees were in music (conducting and church music)
followed by an MA in liturgical studies from St. John’s, Collegeville, and a
PhD in liturgical history and theology from the GTU in Berkeley, where her
dissertation was on the intersection of martyr cult, Christology and Eucharist
in 6th century Gaul and Syria. She has written extensively on a
number of topics in the fields of liturgy and sacramental theology,
particularly in rites for the sick, dying and dead and in liturgy and
architecture. Currently she is completing a book on funerals and the
theology of death, as well as working with students on Anglican sacramental
theology articles. Lizette is married to Steve, an environmental engineer, and
has children at school across the world this year! Along with colleagues in the
Bay Area, she is working with clergy to form a local SCP chapter. |

Fr Jared Cramer, Treasurer
Jared Cramer serves as a Clergy Resident in the Lilly-Endowed Foundations for Spiritual Leadership program at Historic Christ Church in Alexandria, VA. He is a native of Western Michigan and completed a Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies at Rochester College in Rochester Hills, MI. He attended seminary at the Graduate School of Theology at Abilene Christian University (ACU) in Abilene, TX. He graduated from the School of Theology at the University of the South, with a Master of Sacred Theology in Anglican Studies, in 2008. His S.T.M. thesis, entitled Safeguarded by Glory: The Ecclesiology of Michael Ramsey Applied Today, will be published next year by Lexington Book. He currently lives in Alexandria, VA, with his wife, Bethany, and their dog, Cappadocian. He has been serving as Provisional Treasurer for the Society during months it was being formed. |

Fr Jesse Abell, Secretary
Jesse Abell has served as the Associate Rector of St. Francis-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church in Zionsville, IN, since June 2007. In addition to his parish duties, he serves the Ecumenical and Interfaith Officer for the Diocese of Indianapolis. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Indiana Wesleyan University and his MPhil in Psychology and Religion at the University of Cambridge. He attended seminary at the School of Theology of the University of the South in Sewanee, TN, and was ordained to the priesthood in the Diocese of Northern Indiana. He is also a member of the Episcopal Network for Science, Technology, and Faith and the Episcopal Network for Animal Welfare, being a dog-lover himself. He is engaged to marry Allison Martorano next June. He has been serving as Provisional Secretary for the Society during the Society during months the Society was being formed. |

Fr Christopher Arnold, Communications Director
Christopher Arnold is Priest-in-charge of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Middlesboro, Ky, in the Diocese of Lexington. His placement there is part of the Network for Congregational Development and Pastoral Leadership, an effort established by the diocese to match newly ordained clergy with smaller parishes, often in rural Appalachian mountain settings. Chris attended seminary at Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, CA, where he earned an MDiv and an MA in Liturgical Studies. He was ordained through the Diocese of Northern California. Chris serves on the Standing Committee of the Diocese of Lexington, and is a member of the Society of Mary and the Guild of All Souls. He is married to Celeste Williams. | |
