All Christians share the same core privileges and duties of discipleship. All Christians are drawn into the life of the Trinity through the sacraments, the life of prayer, and the practice of virtue. Some Christians are called by God and acclaimed by the church to positions of ordained leadership as bishops, deacons, and priests.

It isn’t always an easy life. It draws on our resources and our creativity. It stretches our abilities and our capabilities. It challenges us as much as it rewards us. Grateful to God for the opportunity to serve Christ’s church, we seek out opportunities to share with our ordained sisters and brothers.

Learn more about the life of the Society of Catholic Priests on these pages. Our Rule describes the spiritual structure of the life of the SCP and her members. Speaking of members, you can find out how to become a member of the Society and (if possible) one of its chapters. You can begin your journey into our Society by praying the following prayer, which is prayed daily by all the members of the SCP:

Father, we thank you that you have called us to your service, to feed your people by word and sacrament. By the power of your Spirit, keep us faithful to you and to those in our care. Keep united in the bonds of peace and love the members of our Society, that by sharing in Christ’s priesthood here on earth, we may come to share in the joys of his eternal kingdom, where he reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, for ever and ever. Amen.
