The Most Rev. Frank Griswold

The Most Rev. Frank Griswold

Bishop Griswold was the 25th Presiding Bishop and Primate of the Episcopal Church. He was co-chair of the Anglican-Roman Catholic International Commission from 1998 to 2003. He was a member of the standing committee for the 1998 Lambeth Conference. He has also served on diocesan, national and international committees for liturgy and ecumenism. He is presently the Bishop Visitor of Society of St. John the Evangelist. He continues to speak, teach and write, and is the author of PRAYING OUR DAYS: A COMPANION AND GUIDE, a collection of prayers and reflections to help deepen and expand a person’s experience of the sacramental and liturgical life of the Church. Bishop Griswold has been formed and sustained by the Catholic tradition within Anglicanism, and especially the spirituality of Benedict, Ignatius of Loyola and the Caroline Divines. The world, viewed as sacramental, has led him to seek encounters with those of other faith traditions at the contemplative level of the heart, and he currently sits on the Board of World Religious Leaders of the Elijah Interfaith Institute.
